FCFP Pre-Game Inspection: Feb 10th VS Windsor Express

FCFP Pre-Game Inspection: Feb 10th VS Windsor Express

1: Express are on the way

The Express are making their way back to London this afternoon where they will play their 3rd game against the Bolts in the past week. The first game against Windsor on Wednesday night was not good for the Lightning, only shooting 35% from the field and only have 6 assists for the team. Windsor also played great shooting 58% from the field and 52% from deep. Thursday night the Lightning showcased a much better brand of basketball taking advantage of their scoring opportunities, generating more ball movement, and playing strong defense. It was the double overtime thriller that had both teams making comebacks and trying to seal the game with clutch shots, London just happened to get the last one to win the game. Today should be more like Thursday with the Bolts showing this brand of basketball is a change in the team and no fluke with their great win yesterday against the Titans.

2: The Moon's coming out

Xavier Moon has been back for 2 games since his injury and has played well. He has come off the bench rather than in his regular starting position to ease him back into the games but he hasn't taken his game back at all. Against Windsor on Thursday he was a clutch player scoring 20 points off the bench as well as scoring 11 points in the 2 overtimes, including his game winning 3 pointer. On Saturday he didn't shoulder the load as much scoring but he still made some baskets dropping 15 points on 50% shooting. He made an effort to get after he game in other ways too, grabbing 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals for the game. He uses his speed and athleticism to get passed defenders, hound ball handlers , and get the ball to open players. Look for Moon to be after it again today blazing by the Express defense.
