LONDON, ON (10/12/2023) – The London Lightning announced today its 2023-24 season schedule as the team makes the move to the Basketball Super League with the aim of winning a third consecutive championship and the team’s seventh as a franchise. This year’s schedule features 32 games including 20 home games at the Budweiser Gardens and 12 games on the road.

The schedule will include games against US-based teams from the partnered TBL (The Basketball League) for the third consecutive season. The Lightning is joined by five other Canadian franchises, including the Newfoundland Rogues, Montreal Tundra, Windsor Express, KW Titans and Sudbury Five, as the core for the Super Basketball League’s first season.

The Lightning will open the 2023-24 season on the road against the Sudbury Five, who also make the move from the NBLC to the SBL, on December 28^th at the Sudbury Community Arena in Sudbury, Ontario. The KW Titans come to London and take on the Lightning for the home opener at the Budweiser Gardens on January 6^th. The Bolts will be presented with their championship ring, while also witnessing the unveiling of the team’s sixth championship banner on opening night in a ceremony set to celebrate their back-to-back championships to close the door on their time in the National Basketball League of Canada.

Fans can look forward to a number of new teams set to visit the Budweiser Gardens this season including the Montreal Tundra. Making their way to London from the TBL this season is the Connecticut Crusaders (Jan 27), Rhode Island Kraken (Jan 19 & 21), Pontiac Pharaohs (Feb 7), Glass City Wranglers (Mar 10), Kokomo Bobkats (Mar 19), Las Angeles Ignite (Apr 12), and the West Virginia Grind (Apr 24).
